**A view-from-seat preview shows a buyer an approximate sightline from a chosen seat or seating section before purchase. It links media or a rendered venue perspective to the relevant seat or section in the seating plan.**

## What can a preview show?

An operator might provide a photograph from an individual seat, a photo covering several nearby seats, or a 3D scene that rotates to a selected position. The label must make clear which it is. A photograph from Row C should not be represented as an exact view from every seat in the section.

| Method | Strength | Limitation |
| ----------------------------- | ---------------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| **Individual-seat photo** | Concrete reference | Expensive to collect and maintain |
| **Section-level photography** | Easier to produce | Can hide seat-to-seat differences |
| **3D venue rendering** | Scales across seat selection | Accuracy depends on the model |

## How does it connect to the ticketing system?

The seat identifier on the map should resolve to the right image or camera position. The content layer must update when a venue reconfigures sections, installs camera platforms or changes stage orientation. A preview should not imply that the seat is available: live availability and basket reservation remain separate functions.

## What about restricted views and accessibility?

Preview images can help communicate pillars, railings, lighting structures and stage angles, but should supplement explicit restricted-view warnings, not replace them. Information about step-free access, wheelchair positions and companion seats needs accessible written descriptions as well as imagery.

## What should operators test?

Compare previews against actual sightlines for several seat types, including edge seats and any restricted-view positions. Check keyboard and screen-reader navigation, image alternatives, page performance on mobile and what happens if a preview is unavailable. Commercially, accurate information matters more than a visually impressive simulation.
